  1. Upgrading Windows 10 Home to pro

I am currently trying to find help fixing my windows 10 home every time I try to update my windows 10 it prompts me with the following:

"There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help:

    • Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 - Error 0x80242006

Your device is at risk because it’s out of date and missing important security and quality updates. Let’s get you back on track so Windows can run more securely. Select this button to get going:
    Retry"

I have been dealing with this issue for a while and contacted customer support in the past. I've researched, and tried every way to fix this problem.

When I contacted customer support the first time couple years back they told my my windows key was either corrupt or that it was some type of demo of windows 10 and can't update past a certain update because windows isn't doing that anymore. I asked him how to fix this problem and he instructed me to call the company that sold my my pc and demand a new product key. I said okay, and then called cyberpowerpc. They told me my product is out of warranty within 6 months and now i'm stuck. so I called again explaining the problem to a new customer service agent and he said theres nothing he can do for the new product key but he can make it so all the reminders will go away. In turn making so my pc runs and operates as if its fine but there is the update problem in the background that doesn't annoy me. Well, now I'm running into problems where certain games and apps won't allow me to play them because my operating system is out of date so I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought Microsoft Windows 10 Pro because that was the only thing that showed up on the market place. I bought it and tried to download running into another error.

    "Something unexpected has happened:

Reporting this problem will help us understand it better. You can wait a bit and try again or restart your device. That may help.

    Code: 0x80080204"

I'm just so frustrated with this problem, and would like some help. I will be trying to contact Microsoft Tomorrow as well. I bought this expensive pc from cyberpower with preinstalled windows 10 promised in the description, when I'm told its a demo and turns out Microsoft is not supporting that anymore so I do the right thing and try to buy a new key and I'm out $99 for upgrading because it won't even update still. I understand this problem will be fixed eventually i hope I just thought maybe if I post this it will help me faster.

    Help would be appreciated,

    Thanks,

    JesseK

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

  3. Can't upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro

    Hi Bill,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and will assist you in the best possible ways.

I suggest you to download and create an installation media for Windows 10 Pro form the link provided below:

    Download Windows 10

After the installation media is created, suggest you to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro from the installation media. When the upgrade asks for product key, enter the product key purchased for Windows 10 Pro. If it does not accept, suggest you to skip the activation
step. After the Operating System is installed, suggest you to activate by phone by following the steps below:

    • Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
    • Select the Region from the list and click Next.
    • Call the Toll-Free number provided on top and can activate via phone.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on the status for further assistance.

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

i've seen this when the stock USB drivers went kaput. Only ever seen it once - i used a PCI USB 2.0 card and connected the mouse and keyboard to that, and manually updated the USB 2/USB 3 drivers.
