Windows 10: URGENT! - Code 48 blocked Intel HD Graphics Driver After Recent Update

Hi,


This has been an annoying issue since a month or two. Since the latest late updates of the Windows October Update my Intel HD Graphics Driver no longer works. Instead I have a code 48 that keeps blocking basic functionalities. I cannot open 3D editing programs without the screen flickering or the programs crashing. Updating the driver does nothing. Clicking on Check for Solutions does nothing either.





Also, the Sleep button has disappeared completely since the update.


I ran antivirus scans and found no anomalies. I also ran the sfc scannow command in cmd and no anomalies were found either.


Please help me solve this issue as soon as possible, it's a burden on many of my personal and professional projects at the moment.

driver version10.18.10.4338 This happed after Win 10 v1809 update, Build17763.194. Dell and Intel say it is a MS Windows problem

Yes and Yes. No Rollback for the initial driver version 10.18.10.4338 that was working before v1809 install, as is still the preferred version via Dell downloads & dell SupportAssist.

Yes, went to Intel and they had a new driver for HD Graphics 4000 drive (generic, and not recommended by Dell for my Inspiron). Did delete/install with the
latest Intel driver(generic). Same problem (Code 48) and also broke the NIVIDA graphics driver that is co-dependent on the
HD Graphics 4000 driver. So did a rollback with it, to the
driver version 10.18.10.4338 .

Intel has a Driver and Support Assistant.Install it and let it scan your system in ordrer to update the driver.

try this, it works for many people:


1.- Download from this site the beta zip file (win64_154012.zip), and not the exe file:

Download Beta Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 and Windows 7*/8.1* [15.40]

(for 32-bit download win32_154012.zip).

2.- Unzip the driver to C:\Windows\Temp folder.

3.- Right click on Start and choose Device Manager, Display adapters,
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family.

4.- Double click to open it (or right click and choose Properties).

5.- Click on the Driver tab and then on Update Driver.

6.- On the new tab click on Browse my computer for driver software.

7.- On the new tab click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

8.- On the new tab click on Have Disk.

9.- Click on Browse and then choose Windows\Temp\win64_154012\Graphics\igdlh64.inf
(igdlh32.inf for 32-bit) and click on Open and then
OK.

10..- On the new tab where Intel (R) HD Graphics Family is showing click on
Next and let the driver to install.

11.- The new Driver Version is 20.19.15.4326 and is digitally signed.

Be aware to follow step by step all the procedure and do not try to use the wizard to update the driver directly, in many cases it won’t work.
