Windows 10: Urgent request-aid in updating Windows

I've recently posted this question, as of late last year I've continued to use ver 1803 of Windows 10 while finding myself unable to update even after following recommendations from this site: downloading update manager-nothing, downloading creation tool- nothing, doing all this while Kaspersky is halted/switched off- nothing. Windows, Kasperky, Advanced Systemcare(iobit), Driver Updater and Advanced System Repair Pro have yielded nothing in solving this problem.


Patience isn't much of virtue these days with sudden errors (blue screens/mandatory restarts or simple freezing of pc) becoming frequent. I need serious advice like yesterday.

Okay I don't see any known troublemakers in the shell extensions shown in explorer tab.





Would suggest checking for updates for the softwares listed and installing updates if available.

Maybe it's time to step back from the current efforts, and start over. I suggest you read over this excellent tutorial and try all of its steps: [Solved] Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) for Windows 10 - Driver Easy. The one that may provide you with some easy relief is the one where you uninstall the device whose descriptor is failing, reboot, and see what happens when device enumeration recurs during boot-up. If you're lucky, it will fix itself.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
