  1. USB device not recognized

I have a Lenovo Android phone which after it self-upgraded it's software (customized Android UI) does not get recognized when it's plugged into my Lenovo G50 notebook. When plugged in, Windows gives "USB device not recognized" and the phone cannot be accessed. I've tried different USB ports, cables, uninstall/reinstall the driver, nothing works. I also tried the Win10 hardware troubleshooter feature multiple times to no avail. I'm at a loss how I might resolve this problem - and Lenovo Support forum is of no help. Any help is greatly appreciated. Below is the details in the Windows event log...

  2. USB Device Not Recognized, Unknown USB Device (Device Descripter Request Failed) Error Code 45

My problem vanished overnight; my theory was a problem with the Dell monitor's built-in USB hub - the screen saver hadn't kicked in for some reason and the monitor was pretty hot to the touch. A good night's rest seems to have mysteriously fixed it.

  3. USB Device Not Recognized, Unknown USB Device (Device Descripter Request Failed) Error Code 45

    Thank you for the reply.

The problem persists regardless of whether I have my phone connected or any USB device connected. I can unplug all my USB devices and the problem will continue as if I am plugging and unplugging a device over and over.

I did try connecting my phone with a different cable, just to cover the step. My phone connects fine and without issue, but the sounds and notifications continue.

I filed a feedback bug as you described in step 2, and as a temporary work around I have disabled all notifications from explorer and disabled the device connect and disconnect sounds.

I may have to completely reinstall the OS in order to fix it, but I am still hoping to avoid that.

    USB device not recognized

Leave your device unplugged, access device manager, select "show hidden devices" and see if you can find the old inactive device (greyed-out). Once found, delete it, reboot, plug your updated device back in and see if it is now properly recognized:

  5. Nope, that does not work. I've done that numerous times. No change. Same problem. The device manager shows the error as...
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
A request for the USB device descriptor failed."

    Any other ideas?
