Windows 10: USB Host Controller resetting?

Due to incompatibility with some hardware I’m trying to sort out, I want to set my USB host controllers back to a default windows one to see if it solves anything.

It’s usually set to the AMD USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller in the device manager, but when i try to change it to another option (browse driver software > pick from available list > USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller), it sets it to what i want and then requests a restart to finish installation. After the restart, it goes back to the AMD option.

Am i doing something wrong, or is something else interfering with the USBs on boot?

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) today announced that it is the first semiconductor company to receive certification from the USB Implementer's Forum (USB-IF) for its SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.0) four-port extensible host controller (xHCI). In addition to the four-port host controller, the TUSB7340, TI also achieved certification for its two-port host controller, the TUSB7320. These four- and two-port host controllers support such applications as notebooks, desktop computers, workstations, servers, add-in cards and ExpressCard implementations, as well as PCIe-based embedded host controllers for HDTVs, set top boxes and gaming console applications. Host controller key features and benefits

Availability and pricing

USB x HCI Compliant Host Controller

Thank you for the information. If rolling back is not possible, then try updating the driver and see if it will work. Follow these steps on how to update the driver:

• Open Device Manager.
• Look for Universal Serial Bus controllers and click it to expand.
• Select the driver, which in your case is the USB x HCI Compliant Host Controller,then right-click on it and select Properties.
• Under Driver tab, click the Update Driver
  button to update the driver.

Once updated, try if the USB ports will now work properly.

USB Enhanced Host Controller Update Error 0x800f0219

I also have the same problem. Reinstalled the win 10 without deleting my personal files and now I cannot use any of the USBs. The windows updater lists these error msgs:

" INTEL driver update for Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1C2D - Error: 0x800f0219" and

"INTEL driver update for Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1C26 - Error: 0x800f0219"

I tried to download an updater from Intel's website but the updates did not fix the problem. I cannot follow your steps though, because in the device manager there is no "Universal Serial Bus controllers" tab.

Any idea how to fix this? It is really annoying that I am not able to use my USB.
