Windows 10: USB mouse not recognised, "Code 43" appears

I've recently acquired a Zelotes T-80 mouse from my brother as he no longer needs it, used it before and really liked it.

It worked on his PC on Win10 with no issues, but when I try to use it on my laptop it says "Device Descriptor Request Failed".

I have searched online extensively, and can find no working fixes, the laptop is fully updated in all areas according to both the system itself and the Windows Update Assistant, running version 1909.


I have:

Uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them

Downloaded the drivers from the manufacturers website

Restarted the laptop multiple times when told to by the troubleshooter


Tried it on another laptop and it isn't working on there either, but that doesn't tell me if it's a mouse problem or a windows problem as both are updated to 1909.


Just about ready to take a hammer to the lot of it and switch to linux so please God tell me someone has encountered this and has a fix for it, or knows that the mouse is buggered, I've wasted 14 hours of my life on this and I refuse to guess anymore about it.

I recently bought a wireless mouse and its not been recognised by the computer. Whenever i plug in the usb it shows error 43 and that the usb is not recognised...please help guys

Thank you for posting in Community, we understand your concern and we will try our best to help you resolve the issue.

Error Code 43 is a Device Manager error that means the following:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43).

When you get this error with USB devices it’s because one of the drivers controlling the device notified the operating system that the device failed in some manner. This can be because of corruption in one of the loaded drivers and the driver cache just
needs to be flushed. An alternative to resolve this issue is to perform
Power Drain, to do so follow the steps below

• Unplug the charger and remove the battery of your laptop, if using a desktop remove the power cord.
• Press and hold the Power button for 30sec.
• Plug the charger/power cord and restart system
