  1. USB mouse working after plugging in another computer.

Hi, I just bought a new laptop a there is a problem with my mouse, after a reboot it always isnt working when its already plugged in the laptop so I have to unplug it and then plug it back in, and I have to plug it in a different USB port, because the USB port it was plugged in the last time stops working for that mouse, but works fine with another USB devices, and when I am out of UBS ports I have to plug it in a different computer and than plug it back into the laptop and works just fine, after reboot it stops working again. It works on different computers flawlessly. Please help.

  2. Wireless Mouse stops working when external HDD plugged in to USB3 port

I have a minor but annoying problem and can't find a solution....

My wireless mouse stops working when an external USB3 HDD is plugged in to USB3 port. The mouse is about 3 feet away from the receiver.

My mouse is a Logitech M310.

    • I don't have the problem if a USB 2 external HDD is connected to either a USB2 or USB3 port.
    • I have moved the mouse receiver to different ports on both the front and back of the computer but this doesn't change anything.
    • If I move the mouse very close to the receiver (a couple of inches), it works so it seems that the wireless range is reduced when the USB3 HDD is plugged in.
    • If I connect a wired mouse, it works fine.
    • I have 2 USB3 ports and the problem is the same on both.
    • If the USB3 HDD is connected to a USB2 port, the mouse works normally.
    • I changed the battery in the mouse but this didn't help.
    • the USB3 HDD is a WD Passport that is self powered through the USB port.

    Any suggestions?

  4. USB mouse working after plugging in another computer.

USB mouse is not working on Windows 10

    Hi Bill,

I realize that the USB mouse is not working. I will try to help you with this issue.

Please answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue:

    • Which MS Fix-it are you referring to?

    • Is the issue specific to this USB mouse?

Unplug the mouse, restart the PC and then plug in the mouse to check if that helps. You may also plug in the mouse to another USB port to check if that helps. You may plug in any other USB device in to this PC to check if that device gets recognized.

If the USB mouse is not getting recognized after you plug it in then run the hardware troubleshooter. Once this is done, restart the computer to check if this helps.

    • Press “Windows key + X” to click on “Control Panel”.

    • Click on “Troubleshooting” and click on “View all”.

Click on “Hardware and Devices” to run the troubleshooter. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if this helps.

Keep us informed to help you further.
