Windows 10: USB Port - Dodgy Driver (Code 43)

Hi, I'm struggling to fix one of my USB ports, it doesn't register anything I plug into it and so I went about trying to fix it, I got into Device manager and it comes up with the name as "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" at the port location. I've tried pretty much everything listed in some other Q&A's such as

• turning off the power supply(taking out the battery from the pc) to do a full reboot
• Checking for updates (there were none)
• Uninstalling and Reinstalling all the drivers located under the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" Heading and then Restarting/searching for hardware changes (I tried both and multiple times)
• Disabling and Re-enabling the driver
• I even did I full reset of my PC

If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it. Problem code - 0000002B

USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

Code 43 USB device not recognised

Thank you for posting in Community, we understand your concern and we will try our best to help you resolve the issue.

Error Code 43 is a Device Manager error that means the following:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43).

When you get this error with USB devices it’s because one of the drivers controlling the device notified the operating system that the device failed in some manner. This can be because of corruption in one of the loaded drivers and the driver cache just
needs to be flushed. An alternative to resolve this issue is to perform
Power Drain, to do so follow the steps below

• Unplug the charger and remove the battery of your laptop, if using a desktop remove the power cord.
• Press and hold the Power button for 30sec.
• Plug the charger/power cord and restart system

USB SuperSpeed error code 43


Win 10 ver 1709.

Device Manager always reports the SuperSpeed has a problem.

I have tried uninstalling, updating drivers and a Win 10 online reinstall (repair upgrade?). No change. I installed Win 7 to a spare drive and it finds no USB problems. Also, in Dev Mgr, Win 7 does list a SuperSpeed.

I attached snips of USB Tree and Dev Mgr under Win 10 & Win 7.

I want to make the SuperSpeed error go away.
