Windows 10: USB Port problems

Hello, my usb ports on the top of my computer randomly have stopped working, i will be playing a game and then suddenly both my controller and my mouse will not move anything, but my keyboard still works it’s plugged into the back. it only works again when i reset my computer but it’s becoming more and more frequent and not sure what to do. also, when i take them out and try to plug them into the back they don’t work either, it’s like my pc doesn’t want me to move or control it anymore. pretty sure my bios and drivers are all up to date. thanks!

USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

in Windows 10. Here are the steps:

• Press the Windows key on your keyboard.
• Type Troubleshooting then press Enter.
• On the left side, click View all.
• Select Hardware and Devices.
• Click Next and see if it will find any problems.
