Windows 10: user account access problem

Need to restore access password reset to my wife's account *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, can you help? Web interface is continually rejecting requests. The account in question is connected to my wife's user account on her laptop. She does not use it for email so there is little to no history of its use. This causes the web recovery page to reject our help requests. At issue are passwords and important photo records that she needs take care of her banking and home business. The phone number associated with the account is no longer in service so we can not receive a code to unlock it. If a code

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Initially, I suggest you to run the Microsoft account troubleshooter.

Step 2:

Now try to switch from Microsoft account to Local account and check.

Refer to these steps to convert Microsoft account into Local User account:

• Where do you see all these accounts on your system?
• Do these see these account as a login option at you login screen?
• Are you able to access these accounts?
• If you are able to access these account. Are you able to access data in these accounts?

I would suggest you to follow the step, which would provide you the list of all the user accounts on your system.

• Press Windows key + X key.
• Type control userpasswords2.
• Press Enter.

Now check if all these accounts are present on your system.

Can't access my home user account on Windows 10.

File Explorer may have encountered an issue due system conflict. To correct this, follow the steps below:

• On the Search bar, type in quick access and press Enter.
• Select File Explorer Options.
• On the General tab, make sure to set Open File Explorer to
  This PC.
• Under Privacy, remove the check mark on Show recently used files in Quick access
  and Show frequently used folders in Quick access.
• Click Apply and OK.

We also suggest that you follow these steps on how to Enable Built-in Administrator
to access your files and perform the troubleshooting steps given by
Pavan_N and BulldogXX. Follow the steps below to Enable Built-in Administrator:

The built-in elevated "Administrator account" is a local account that has full unrestricted access rights to the PC.

• Right click on the Windows icon, select Command Prompt.
• A Command Prompt window will open.
• Type in or copy and paste this command:
  • net user administrator /active:yes
• Press Enter. Close the Command Prompt.
• Sign out with your current account and try to sign in using Administrator.
