We have to be careful with re-using/editing other peoples work - images used for commercial purposes are copyright to both the creator and book publisher so are likely be subject to DMCA notices if used without permission if you want to use other peoples work you should check out halloween jack o lantern - Google Search

We have some original stuff by our own denizens and I was thinking of making a Halloween theme out of some of them for use by ourselves. It's been awhile since I read the rules on such, so maybe a refresher would be appropriate?

 

Yeah you're right on that, I myself never messed with them because I like them the way they are. The thought crossed my mind earlier, but I'm actually too lazy lately to do anything *chuckle

As a producer of media I always retain full rights to all my Published work, but rarely refuse usage rights for use unedited for non commercial use.
I do have open agreements for use of any of my photographic output with several Non profit organisation for use with attribution.
The ability to allow editing of of work by others here, remains with them so they should be asked about reuse unless they have already given general permissions when posted.

The forum rules does include a, copyright usage clause for the forum, that is needed for us to actually display content. ( we also reserve the right to remove any content that does not meet forum standards but that is not a specific copyright issue ).

I believe that unedited use of others content, posted here for others use ( wallpapers ), to create a theme would not be classed as editing, but adding text or mixing images to create new images would and thus would require at least the courtesy of request and agreement for it's use.
