Windows 10: User folder completly gone

I've changed the user name of the current windows user through an admin account.

After a change in the registry and a reboot the whole data in the user folder is gone.

I`ve tried to restore the data through the .bak and rename back. But it does not work.

The recovery with easeus does not rly work ... i can restore some files, but they are corrupted.

I have an restore point after a windows update from last week. Is there any chance to get the data back?

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

any more suggestions

 

Current active users that are friends

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.
