The "OP" merely posted a news article with the title, thus perhaps you should be criticizing the authors of the article, not the so called messenger.

I think the point is people want to complain about 10, again.

Actually if you comprehend the article the then you would see that it clearly connotes the update is buggy, which is what the article is doing by pointing out the update woes experienced by many, me included. In short, even though the word "bug/s, buggy" isn't explicitly used throughout the article, the inference is clearly there *Wink

And in the first sentence under "Some no longer want TH2...

My Win10 is exactly what you said you wanted...*Wink (It makes Win7 feel like I'm running in molasses by comparison.)

Win10 is completely customizable--you don't want tiles--you don't have to have 'em. You want a single-column start menu, it's easy peasy. Best of all, anyone can do it. This level of customization is what Win8 should have had from the start, and whatever you customize on your desktop stays on your desktop through version upgrades of Win10--so, whatever you do is as permanent as you want it to be.

You do understand not everyone gets sick? Does that mean there is no sickness in the world??? *sarc

First off, you're not talking to some newbie Microsoft hater here. I've been in these forums from Vista to 7 to 8 to 10 so it's not like I'm clueless here! It is factually known here and elsewhere that the TH2 update has been buggy to many in trying to get the update to install. There are threads here and elsewhere about the issue, and many have simply resorted to doing a clean install to get around it. I myself will have to do a clean install on my laptop because the update simply errors out before completion, even though my desktop went flawless with the update.

The fact that "you" didn't have an issue doesn't mean everyone else was so lucky. Just because you didn't get sick, doesn't mean there is no sickness.

    Peace

Yep, believe it or not, when Win95 shipped, some people actually clamored for Win3.1 (No accounting for taste, eh?) ! Yes, more than likely the people who are having problems have yet to reinstall their hardware drivers, something I advise everyone always do after upgrading an older version of Windows to a newer version. It's just good form. It's also good form not to believe everything you see on the Internet...! The th2 release is as bug-free and stable as any other version of Windows I've used. (If that was not the case I surely wouldn't be running Win10 at all.)

  9. Same here as soon as updated or upgraded my drivers are up dated with the driver updater I have installed.
It does it automatically, all I have to do is a restart if it tells me too.
All my drivers are up to day as of this time and date

Yes, driver updates are a given. Most of us know that. I'll also add that critical Windows updates need to be installed as well. That still doesn't mean you're immune to issues as sometimes widows simply breaks because sometime files get orphaned. This is why it's sometimes good to restart your PC.

    Later.

    Hi,

Absolutely agreed but it still takes a lot of work getting there.
The N version of Enterprise LTSB is exactly how I'd like my desktop windows to be and I'm sure that many people who stick with Win 7 do that for the exact same reason I like that edition of Win10.

IOW, if MS were to release such a trimmed down version to the public then I suspect it would be quite successful. I could be wrong too. *sarc

    Cheers guys, *Wink

  12. Microsoft should not have to trim things under the hood, I think.

Rather, Microsoft should offer a range of different desktop 'skins' for:
    - office work
    - children
    - seniors
    etc.

If your old windows is not the genuine version then you shouldn't get the free upgrade. I think it's only fair that those of us that do have the genuine OS should be the only one that's eligible for the free upgrade. There are a lot of pirate copies of windows out there that's why some users computer are not eligible its either that or they're computer is too old and cant support the new windows 10. who knows! Anyway there are a lot peoples out there that are having problems with the upgrade should really try to do more homework on trying to fix they're computer parts and softwares first before installing the new windows 10. Most of the time its the softwares that people have on they're computer that's creating the problem with not excepting the new windows 10 and some of they're device parts that just didn't have the latest updates to that device that is also causing the problem with the windows 10. Took me some serious digging into my own desktop computer too before I finally was able to find and fix all the parts or softwares that was on my computer to make sure that it was up to date and ready for the new windows 10. And not only that, with the new windows 10 being so new and untested for stability MS is doing they're best working on hotfixes as they get more and more feedback from users about they're issues with the new windows 10. Folks nothing is ever foolproof so running into issues will always be there you just have to be patience and let MS know about the issues so they an try to work on a hotfix for it. I went through the whole process myself and its a learning curve for me too as I play around with this new windows 10 and getting myself familiarize where everything is at and try to understand this new Operating Sytem.

  14. I don't understand why some users hate having windows update to just installed any new updates to they're system. I mean there are a lot of peoples out there that doesn't even know how to keep they're computer system up to date which could lead to they're computer system being compromise by viruses. I really like the way this new windows 10 is running. Especially the windows update that does it automatically if there's any new updates available for my computer. I usually check the windows update every weeks and install it myself but now that this new windows is doing it automatically for me without me having to do it manually is big PlUS *Smile

  15. If you're upgrading an entire OS, but you don't know how to search online for help in case it doesn't work (or figure it out yourself), you probably shouldn't be upgrading OSes...
