Windows 10: Using non PC speakers and mic for Facebook Messenger

I had my Bluetooth headset connected to my PC, when I received a Facebook Messenger voice call in the Windows App on Windows 10 pro on a Dell laptop. The caller was silent, but could hear me.


I switched my windows audio output device to speakers, and it still didn't work - until the caller called me back - at which point my PC speakers and mic were working fine with it.


The question is; where can I set Messenger to use my Bluetooth headset? If I can't do this, then every time someone calls me, I have to change my audio output from headset to PC speakers then call them back in order for it to work.


The headset is a set of JBL 120TWS earbuds. They are recognised in windows as both an audio output device and a headset. When I selected the Windows audio output to either, it still didn't work.

You're quite right about the version. I'm out to kill the Facebook Messenger. Thought that possibly removing the Windows app might help, but it doesn't. Will look into the URL you suggested above. Thanks!

Hi,

If you wish to remove Facebook Messenger application on your PC, please follow these steps:

• Go to Settings.
• Select System.
• Click Apps & features.
• Search the Messenger app for Facebook.
• Select the application then click Uninstall.

Please check the application from your phone as well if wish not to receive messages from the Messenger, you may uninstall the application.
