    I am at my wit's end on this one. I have a HP slimline desktop Win 10 Enterprise. I simply wanted to install a fax/modem for my 3/year faxing needs. I bought a PCI fax/modem but found out that my expansion slot is a PCI Express x16 Gen 2.0. I have also tried 2 USB "Win 10 compatible" fax/modems with zero results. HP said they were not made for Win 10. I saw some HP PCI Express fax/modems for sale but they only have 1 phone jack. I have an Xfinity 1gb modem/router with 2 phones connected to 1 phone jack via a splitter. I would be running 1 of those phone lines to the internal fax/modem and on to my phone. But how can I do that if the fax/modem only has 1 phone jack? Penney for your thoughts? Thanks.

    DOCSIS 3.0 modem with phone line?

    I'm thinking about buying my own modem for a few reasons:

    1. Upgrade to DOCSIS 3.0, the modem I have from them is 2.0
    2. Eliminate the monthly rental fee.

    Time Warner has a official supported modem list on their site, but none of them have phone lines like my current modem does, and then there's this little tidbit: if you choose to purchase your own modem, you will need another device from them to use their phone service, as none of the modems on their list have phone lines (including the modem I am currently using, from them, that does have phone lines on it). It seems they are trying to get their monthly equipment fee regardless if you have their modem or your own.

    Considering my modem isn't on their list and it has phone lines on it, and I don't have a second box from them for the phone, I'm thinking ANY modem should work, whether it's on their list or not.

    So, I'm looking for a DOCSIS 3.0 modem that has phone lines on it, any recommendations? I don't mind if the modem is also a router, provided I have full control over it as I would with my current router.

    Unable to connect to Cable Modem


    I have an issue with my Windows 10 PC not connecting to my cable modem by ethernet cable. I connect the PC to the modem and all I get is "unidentified network - no internet", yet my laptop connects to the modem by ethernet (I'm using it now) just fine. I've tried everything I can think of to get my PC to connect to the modem, but nothing has fixed the problem so far. I can connect my phone to the modem fine by wifi as well, so the modem isn't the issue - or is it? Yesterday I had no issues with connecting to the modem and internet until I had a "blue screen event" and when the computer rebooted, I had the yellow triangle ! ever since.

    Please HELP!!
