    Using Provisioning Packages


    Hello Everyone,

    While reading about Provisioning Packages, I cannot figure out where and when to use them? I really appreciate if you could help find some use cases of PP.

    Why Microsoft came up with the idea of PP?
    Does they replace GPOs? (if anything to do with GPOs at all)

    C Cleaner sees this as a problem "%SystemRoot%\System32\provtool.exe" "%1".

    What does provtool.exe do?

    We understand that the Publisher is "Microsoft Corporation" and that it is part of the operating system. The description is "Provisioning package
    runtime processing tool", but what does that mean?

    What is the "Provisioning package" in this context?

    Provisioning for what?

    We all what enough information to justification its existence. I think most of us are tired of being told is ok - when Malware / Antivirus / System Analysis tools are telling is its not ok.

    Using Provisioning Packages

    Provisioning Packages are the way the OEM applies Customization's to the Windows 10 Image...
    ie. Drivers, OEM Program's, OEM Bloatware, etc..

    They do this in windows 10 so that the Standard Windows Image is a constant Image for all PC's and then that way the OEM can include different Custom Provisioning Packages - depending on PC and User Programs...
