Using remote desktop or Teamviewer or Anydesk to manage 2 different networks

    Hello Experts,

I have a network video recorder that has an Ethernet Port and 16 embedded PoE ports.

I have a dozen ip cameras plugged into the PoE ports and another 10 cameras plugged into

a desktop switch that connects this recorder to these remote cameras.

I installed a Win10 PC using Remote Desktop to connect to the local LAN remotely to manage and configure the
cameras with Internet Explorer browser. However, I cannot connect to the PoE port network since that is
separated from the main network. Is there any way I manage both subnets with this PC?

Would installing another NIC in this computer allow access to both networks?

Local network is 192.168.1.xxx The PoE ports are on 192.168.2.xxx

    Recorder is 192.168.1.100

I connect to their WAN address with Remote Desktop/Anydesk/Teamviewer,

I can manage the recorder and the cameras on the 192.168.1.xxx network. But I obviously

cannot see the 192.168.2.xxx Cameras. If I install another NIC and connect that to the

192.168.2.xxx subnet, would I be able to access both subnets using any of these remote control apps?

    Thanks!!

    :)

How To Create Two Factor Authentication for Remote Desktop

Hello artmanphoto, are you using the built in remote software that comes with windows 10 ?
I too use remote software, so can i suggest you change to one of the following.
Because the remote software that comes with windows is very insecure.

    Anydesk
To use 2 step authenticator with anydesk go here

    Teamviewer
To use 2 step authenticator with teamviewer go here

    Splashtop
To use 2 step authenticator with splashtop go here

    Radmin
Does not have 2 step authentication as far as i know.
But it does have IP Filter, very high security.

All 4 have very high security,
Anydesk, Splashtop & teamviewer all have so you can add two factor authentication with google authenticator.
Personally i prefer radmin Using remote desktop or Teamviewer or Anydesk to manage 2 different networks :)

    * Had to add Anydesk to my suggestion because it's just to good to leave out *

  3. Using Remote Desktop

Hi Sohan. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 10 year Windows MVP here to help you.

I would use AnyDesk or TeamViewer which are much better and more reliable, totally free. I prefer AnyDesk. See comparison here:

To use Remote Desktop in Home version see here:

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

  4. Using remote desktop or Teamviewer or Anydesk to manage 2 different networks

    Remote Desktop - Multiple Users

Hi JJM. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Guardian Moderator here to help you.

The easiest way by far to do this is with the much more reliable and flexible free TeamViewer or AnyDesk Applications.

Install it to both PC's so that any User can access it to sign into the other PC, even get through their passwords which will make it useful for various accounts.

I'm sure you could do that with Remote Desktop as well although I wouldn't even try myself because the other 3rd party apps are so much better and more reliable. I stopped spending hours troubleshooting Microsoft remote utilities years ago when I changed to
TeamViewer (and then AnyDesk) and haven't spent a minute doing it since.

A comparison of the apps is here:

    https://www.gb-advisors.com/teamviewer-vs-anyde...

If you have any questions just ask back and I"ll be here to help.
