    mccoady,

Since there has been a diversion as you tried using the other commands as tests, please could you post what your Task scheduler task definition has now become?

What does the Task history tab say?

Well it says the History is disabled how come?

First thing this morning I created another mutesyvolume 2 task and left all settings at default. To my surprise it muted the volume but after changing the time to trigger it again it won't repeat muting the volume... have tried several times. Below are my settings.

Using Task Scheduler to Mute System Volume

You have used the form of the NirCmd for returning the volume to 'normal' [whatever that means]. Try using values 0 or 1 instead.

    Actually
    nircmd mutesysvolume 2
in my run box toggles the volume on and off.

Suggest you get this working first using the Run box.

    @ Try3
I actually started out using values 0 & 1 but then went to 2.

    @ dalchina
I actually got it to work using Prompt & desktop shortcut as stated earlier.

What I'm finding out is after creating the task it's not always enabling the task. It shows it's enabled when creating the task but once I finish and go back to Task Scheduler Library it sometimes shows disabled. It does this a lot when I edit the time. If I manually enable it it probably works 80% of the time.

When I say 80% I mean most of the time I set it to mute it works but then doesn't always work to unmute.

Guess I'll go ahead and set a schedule to mute daily at 10:00 PM & unmute at 8:30 AM to see what happens. If it will just mute each night I suppose I could live with that although don't know why it's not more consistent.
