Touchpad and keyboard do not work simultaneously

My keyboard and touchpad refuse to work at the same time. Pressing a key causes the mouse to freeze for a few seconds. The driver for the touchpad is ELAN. The computer hasn't been tampered with at all. I've read that I would need to change the driver
for the touchpad, but I'm a bit of a newbie so a step-by-step guide would really help me out. Which driver do I need, how do I install it, stuff like that. Thank you in advance.

• In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.
• Click on “Hardware and Devices".
