Windows 10: Various approaches and numerous attempts, but can not update Windows 10 1909 to version 2004

No matter which of the many approaches including using media creation tool, upgrade tool, ISO file or any of the many suggestions on line, I can not get my computer to update from Windows 1909 to Windows 2004. I always end up with0x8007042B-0x4000D The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operationI have tried clean-boots, downloading to a USB drive, All the various command line "Net xxx" commands and too many more to mention. The update will get between 85-95 % complete before failing and doing a roll-back.I have TBs of storage space, di

Windows 10 update version 1909

The last time I attempted to install this update I had to send my laptop to service for the SSD to be replaced. According to the repair feedback the 1909 update trashed the SSD. I have a Samsung notebook9pro. Now I am attempting to install 1909 again because
I got this message "You’re currently running a version of Windows that’s nearing the end of service. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 to get the latest features and security improvements" and it is taking over 15 minutes and
still only at 94%. What gives with the 1909 update? And, I understand there is a version 2004 waiting to be installed. Assuming the 1909 installs should I even try the 2004?

After windows version 2004 update, internet is not working - tried all the trouble shooting steps but issue was persisted. Internet started to work only after reverting to previous version 1909
