Windows 10: Ver 1809, dark mode in file explorer shoes black text on dark background. Can't read icin...

I have been using the Dark mode and find it easier on the eyes. I was looking forward to this update because Microsoft was expanding the dark mode to file explorer windows. On the 3 computers that I just updated, when viewing a file explorer window the icon labels are in black text and are almost impossible to read against the dark background. In all the articles that I've seen that are touting this new feature, the screen shots show the text and labels in white text which is easy to read against the dark background. How can I get the white text?

Dark Mode

I have just updated to Windows 10 Version 1809.

Right click is unusable in dark mode. The text changes to white, but Menu windows are still white.

This is both on the desktop and in File Explorer

Thanks for reporting this.

We are seeing some reports of unexpectedly light-themed UI elements (e.g. address bar) in File Explorer and unreadable text in context menus when using dark theme after the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (1809).

If you’ve enabled dark theme and File Explorer doesn’t look like the picture shown

here, we are aware and working on a fix. In the meantime, you can resolve the issue by going to Settings > Personalization > Themes and reverting back to the default Windows theme. After that, feel free to return to your preferred theme.

File Explorer Dark Mode

Dark mode for File Explorer is coming next version v1809 which will be released very soon.
