My Windows 10 upgrade fails at seemingly the same spot after many tries. I have tried to upgrade from Windows Update and the Media Creation Tool program.

It appears to complete copying the files. It reboots and starts installing Features and Drivers. It shows a completion of 6% and an overall completion of 32%.

I have let it sit overnight, up to 12 hours and the percentages have not changed.

At this point I shut the computer off and restart. I get the following message from the Media Creation Tool program.

“The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP operation.”

I got the same error message after trying twice. I am running Windows 7, 64 bit home version on a SONY VAIO.

I hope you can help.

During multiple attempts at installing windows 10 upgrade from win 8.1, the process freezes at 32% total installation and 6% on the "drivers and features" section. I've waited over an hour with no change in either percentage number.
Error Message: Error "0xC1900101 - 0x30018 - Error in the installation in the phase FIRST_BOOT with an error during the operation SYSPREP

After reboot from the freeze, it just puts my OS back to Win 8.1. I've spent hours on phone with Microsoft with no solution. Do you have any suggestions?

Original Title: November update error

I received the November update, tried installing it twice and it came back as an error. It was 40 percent complete when it froze, so I restarted both times for it to go back to original windows 10. I checked my windows update and it wasn't there anymore.
I looked in windows 10 help and it said if I uninstalled the update, I would have to go to windows 10 update centre and upgrade from there, so I tried that and ended up with the exact same problem. It said I had "0xC1900101-0x30018" "The installation failed
in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP operation".

When I checked on this , I did what it suggested, uninstalled my anti virus program, unplugged all peripherals, still came up with same error.

I would appreciate any help, thanks.
