  1. Very strange audio issue on Windows 10

    Hey everyone.

Just a month ago I bought a new PC built at an Alternate store in my own country. The specs are an Intel i5 6400 core, 16GB of RAM, a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 graphics card, and 120GB of SSD + 1TB of storage.

My audio seems to be managed by Realtek audio. When gaming, I several times a day randomly get the window popping up saying a wire disconnected before it gives the same message again, but there's not a thing I notice in sound or even a change in the way the wires lie as I sit still most of the time.

Now, the big issue happened tonight. I was listening to some orchestral music when suddenly I realised the levels sounded off. Some testing later, I realised that the bass was not audible, the vocals sounded like they came from another room, and the levels were just messed up to the point where my headphones sounded broken and it sounded like it had like 10kbps. Tried the headphones I was using on my laptop, there the audio was crisp as it should be. Strange thing? All system sounds on my PC were crisp and as they should've been, it was Chrome and my games that sounded awful.

I checked every setting but couldn't fix it and was forced to reset to a previous version of Windows, thus losing a handful of my programs. That did solve the issue, but after checking all settings I know of, they were all the exact same as when the bug happened.

I can't reset my PC whenever this time bomb decides to go off, so does anyone know what exactly happened, how I can prevent it, and should it happen again, how I can fix it again?

Edit: I found the exact sound it made. When you're listening to an Apple music player of any sort and pull out the headphones' plug only half so that the sound still plays, but only certain bits of it, THOSE are the exact levels that I heard. I should also mention that in Realtek's audio manager, when I clicked to listen through only the left or the right speaker, all audio was perfectly fine, but once that 1 second test wore off it went back to hell. Not sure if that helps anyone, but it sounds fairly relevant.

    :)

Audio device not working in Windows 10 after playing an audio CD.

Original title:Windows 10 killed my HD Audio Device.

Hello, here is a very strange issue.

I've had a working Windows 10, ver 1511 install working without any real problems for some time now.

Last night, I wanted to check an Audio CD. It played fine and audio sounded good, though the Artist was ****.

I ejected it, went to play an audio clip from the Web about 10 minutes later and no sound.

The Sound icon says "no audio output device is installed".

Looking at Device manager, there isn't a Sound, Video and Game Controller branch to check what the issue is.

It's an Intel Desktop board, with integrated audio. If memory serves me, it was shown as HD Audio device.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Audio goes down after every Windows Update

Hello guys, I have a strange problem: every time I update Windows 10 and I restart the laptop, the sound goes down. The only solution is uninstall the audio drivers and restart. This is very annoying. What can I do?

You could try get your model number using Windows System Information / CPU-Z

AND if i not mistaken, one of my mobo (i think is Realtek driver too) having this similar kind of problem.
I found out that afterwards the audio control panel keep reset the audio settings which made the sound bad.
Reinstalling and updates the latest drivers seem to solve the issue.

  7. What's the exact point it's under? There's so many details in System Info haha
Oh, and I did try to find updates for both my NVIDIA HD audio driver and my Realtek HD driver when the problem showed up, but none were found. You think that if I uninstall one of these and then reinstall it, it'll be okay and I won't permanently mess up my PC?

Very strange audio issue on Windows 10

Mobo information can be viewed under System Summary, you can ignore others (like Hardware Resources, Components, etc...) System information may not show all details for some mobo.

NVIDIA HD audio comes with your NVIDIA GPU driver, it should cause no problem.
Realtek HD audio is recommended to be downlaod via your mobo Gigabytes manufacturer specific model

It should pose no harm to your pc as long you install the correct one. You can always use driver rolled back or restore point if you wish to revert to previous state
