Windows 10: Video streaming problems on windows 11

I've been using the HP 27-cr0002hk desktop on windows 11 for 8 months and the video streaming was good until last night. All of a sudden, the video streaming became not smooth. The videos run for a short while and then pause for a few seconds. The cycle repeats itself. It applies to youtube videos, TV streaming and also when the music files stored in my pc are played on windows media. There are no problems with the internet as browsing on the net is smooth. The streaming issue seemed to happen after a windows update last night. A few things have been done but to no avail, which included

OK, the problem has returned. The reason streaming video is not working (again) is due to the fact that there's no sound on the PC. I've tried all the usual troubleshooting procedures, updated all drivers but to avail.
Has anyone any suggestions?
