View>list folder option doesn't stick to all folders

In a folder, when I do View>list and then in Options apply that to all folders, it often doesn't stick, i.e some sub folders under that folder show the details view. Any suggestions?

In fact it looks like all new folders are defaulting to details view.

    :)

  2. Issues with Quick access Recent files doesn't stick in Windows 10

Months ago I disabled "Recent files" in "Quick access".

Now I want to enable it again but it won't stick. I check the box "Show recently used files in Quick access" over and over again but every time I reopen "Folder Options" it is again unchecked and recent files doesn't show up either in "File Explorer" or
    on the taskbar.

    Procedure:

File Explorer -> View -> Options -> General -> Privacy -> check "Show recently used files in Quick access"

Hit Apply / Ok / Restore Defaults

Tried them all, box is unchecked whenever I reopen "Folder Options".

Do I need to sacrifice a goat on a full moon?

  3. Where is Windows 10 "Remember each folder's view settings"?

    Win 10 Pro

I have tried to set a folder view common to all folders with five columns in a particular order, but it does not stick for all folders.

I went via File/Options/View/Apply to folders in File Explorer.

View>list folder option doesn't stick to all folders

If you look at description of "Apply to all folders", you will notice "of this type". Repeat procedure for similar folders and it should stick.

I'm usually setting view for one main type (general - like C: drive) and it stick for all folder, except music, photos etc. These are to be set separately.

    Hello Tom, *Smile

If you want to apply it to all folders, then you would need to use the method in the tutorial below to first set a default folder template (ex: "General Items") for all folders, then use "Apply to Folders".

Thanks both, will give both methods a shot.

'Of this type' seems vague and a bit of a cop out on Micrsosoft's part. Oh well
