Windows 10: View Poll Results: Do you think you will switch to Spartan?

To try something new and IE will be phased out over time.

 

I may use it if there are a wider variety of plugins or extensions similar to Firefox or Chrome and M$ maintains the site for the life of the browser as one startling discovery I made this week is that Microsoft completely gutted their US Internet Explorer Gallery site with only a handful of Add Ons left that was once pages & pages of Add Ons etc.

A good example of this was having to use the search box just to find the Google Translate & Maps Add Ons that were once readily available and my favorite Add On with the stop sign icon that is against forum rules to discuss in detail was nowhere to be found.

 

Why can't Microsoft, design a decent browser? Chrome, Firefox, Opera countless other browsers seem to work within almost every version of windows, and linux, not sure about OSX. So, why design a browser that is not backward compatible with it's own OS?

It just seems almost everything MS designs, they drop in a few years.

 

I voted I don't know. I have to try it before I can decide. I do know it's going to be hard to convince me to change. Not impossible, just hard. *Smile

 

As I.E. (11 now) is my primary browser and has been for a long time, I'll use Spartan.

I also have FF and use it occasionally.

I notice I.E. supplied with Win 10 has the same ad bypassing feature as FF. I accessed the Yahoo crossword puzzle using Win 10/I.E. and it blocked the ad the same way that FF does.

 

I'm with you. Spartan is going to have to be decent before I even think of dropping FF.

 

Hopefully we'll be trying it out soon. *Smile

 

I have a feeling that it will not appear until the end of Feb or some time in March. When it does appear I hope it's worth the wait.

I'm sure I will try Spartan out, but it will be as my secondary browser. I'm pretty attached to Comodo Dragon. *Biggrin

 

I've used Comodo Dragon and it's not that bad. I just stick with FF because I've used it so long. But, I agree with you I will use Spartan as a secondary when it comes out, I just hope it comes out soon. Next build would be nice but I think we might have to wait until the build after the next one.

If it is light weight version of IE then I definitely will give it a try. Chrome has been a fast browser for me in Win 8 and Win 10 so that's my benchmark that Sparty will have to live up too.

 

Hmm, I might actually try IE again. Firefox's spell check is crapping out on me, and I can get adblock and useful contextual menu addons for IE.

Right, because that is an insanely simple fix that's easy to find.

What I'm finding is that the spellcheck will seem to either quit in random search fields or not recognize some valid words.
