    Hi there

Finally got it all working and all apps (so far) OK on it !!!!!!!

I like it -- only ONE niggle -- the Menu -I can't change text size so it looks too tiny on 4K monitor.

However I don't really use the menu any more so OK.

One PC as Native, two others as a VM - now working 100% OK with proviso as above regarding menu text size.

Will test NETFLIX and SKY GO tomorrow - as well as Windows to go. Should keep me busy.

    Cheers

Think it's too early to vote...MS haven't rolled out everything yet, but as it is right now (assuming it remains stable), I'd run as my main OS.

While in the testing stages I'm going to dual boot with Windows 8. The only problem I have seen so far is with two drivers which I think has to do with the chipset drivers. The drivers from HP will not load. I get a wrong version of windows and the install stops. When Windows 10 goes final I'll probable go with a single boot of Windows 10. I do have 1 complaint that is with me and not Windows 10, I keep moving my mouse cursor to the right hand side and nothing happens. Old habits are hard to break! *Smile

    I am too *Smile

Was gonna dual boot with 8, but 8 was initially my secondary partition (only 30GB, Win7 had rest), so I used Gparted to extend my Win8 partition and it exploded *Tongue. Refused to boot into 8, so here I am, 100% Win10!

VHD is the only way to Dual Boot. Works best uses real drivers. Same as bare metal install.

    In a VM, for now.
I'm not as blown away by Win10 as I was for Win7. So, when Win10 will be released, I won't rush in order to get a licence.

  11. Offensively prejudicial option in the poll ("I hate progress....I won't use it.").
That is a throwback to the desperate "W8 Fan Boys" mantra.

I notice that the poll doesn't have a "You call this progress?...I won't use it." option. *Wink

I notice that MS is still trying to trick people into signing up for an Hotmail/Live account (or whatever it is called these days).
Just like the dodgy crapware installers that seem to be everywhere these days. *Mad

IMO, it seems to be an improvement over the W8 series.

    Agreed.
    However, I wasn't horrified like I was with W8.

    My first impression after installation: W7 > W10TP > XP > W98SE > W8/Vista.

The point is how many ordinary users are going to find it?

It is the same tactic that crapware/malware installers use.
IMO, it's not cool for a Megacorp (like MS) to use it. *Mad

I knew there should have been option hidden somewhere, but I couldn't find it (it was hidden on a separate screen).

I got around it like this:

I did a clean install on my SSD. I am using the start menu now, but will soon switch to the start screen like I had on 8.1. At first it was hard without the start button, but now I find the start screen better.

The only con so far is some apps I like to use, I.E. CPU-Z, and Speccy do not work. I wanted to try some benchmarks but will have to wait until it develops more. I'm sure they will work soon.

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is with having to have a Microsoft account. Apple does the same thing with insisting you have an Apple ID to used any of their hardware or software. I might be prejudiced because I already had an account that I use for Skype, Office 365, OneDrive, email, etc., but I don't find it as annoying as using, say, my iPhone for the first time. I couldn't even use it at all until I downloaded and installed iTunes, setup an Apple ID, put in a credit card number, setup an iCloud account, etc., etc. Took over 2 hours just to turn the damn thing on. When my best friend setup a Microsoft Account to use with Windows 8.1, she put in an email address and a password, and she was done. Didn't even have to be a Hotmail/Outlook email address. She just used her gmail one. Altogether much, much simpler.
