I think you, (Cliff), have accomplished more in the way of theming than I have! *Smile

BTW Cliff: One more post and you're gonna have Y2K problems! *Wink

I don't mind most of the look of Windows 10, (so far!), except the bland white window headers.

W10 "Settings". White background, 9 large icons. So Blah!

I think Windows 10 Is being designed by fans of minimalism. To me it it has a cold and flat look. A lot of people like that. I personally like a bit of eye popping design but it is not to be.

you can actually download install this one directly from microsoft:

Download Microsoft Calculator Plus from Official Microsoft Download Center

it's called "calculator plus", it's free ofc.... and it's a windows xp era thing.
works fine on windows 10. looks better than any other calc as long as you switch to "classic view"

there is no official download of any other calculator versions though. like w8 or w7....

kind of sad that you have to install your basic tools manually now if you dont like the new app style.
instead of just being able to switch to non aero like in windows 7.

I consider all of the post-7 Windows versions jarring and unattractive. And I hate purple. *Smile

Seriously, as a desktop user, the incoherency of the experience is really off-putting. For all the vaunted 'under the hood' improvements to the desktop (most of which I simply don't see, to be honest), the fragmentation of the UI, the combination of old desktop and Metro design elements, is actually unsettling.

A great desktop UI does not make a great phone/tablet UI, etc. etc.

That's my only niggle with it, if you could match the windows headers to the colour of the taskbar and Start (or at least get them in the same colour family) I'd be much happier.

  11. Agreed.
IMO, "any colour you want, as long as it's white" doesn't cut it.

I have to agree with those who are not for the white. I use a Firefox dark theme and it looses it looks with the white top bar. At least in Photoshop cs6 you don't have that problem. Will be glad when third party themes hit the streets. And yes I like using third party themes; in most cases they get it right. . .

I find W10 visually ugly. This is one of the reasons I'm staying with W7. The other being that W7 does everything I need it to do and does so rather well. I also hate the made-up words like "app".

I don't use that word, I hate it (I won't even type it) I always use "application" I also hate the short, made up things like "J-Lo, A-Rod, etc..." My mouth and tongue aren't too lazy to say the entire word(s)

Apologize for the short OT rant. As for W10 I don't like it's appearance so far, it's appearance could change before RTM but I doubt it. It shouldn't have to "grow" on me, right off the bat it should be something like WOW this looks great!
