    One of my laptops will be running Windows 10 with clean install. My main Windows machine right now is running Windows 7, and I plan to keep that around for at least a while longer, and I will probably convert my Windows 7 VM on my Mac to Windows 10.

    OMGoodness! That told me a lot more than has been reported in these forums!

    Release "before the end of the year"? Doesn't look like a June release to me.

    I'm sure he meant DVD, since Windows hasn't fit on a CD in years. *Smile

    Promotions? Thanksgiving Sale? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    The June date is for the release to manufacturers. MS is trying to release Windows 10 to the OEMs early enough so they can ship computers with Windows 10 for the back to school rush. I hope they're still on target! *Smile

    I ordered a new 500 GB SSD yesterday to replace my 250GB SSD that I have Windows 8.1.1 installed on. I can already hear it begging for a clean install of a full retail copy of Windows 10. *Smile

    I may bite the bullet and upgrade to 8.1. It seems MS will let you make bootable install media for 8.1 without a product key but not so for 8.0. Next time I get a real good WiFi connection I'll try to download the image.

    I have many computers, and probably I won't follow the same route on all of them. In short I'll upgrade one of them, clean install another one, keep Windows 8.1 in one and keep Windows 7 in the last one because of graphics compatibility issues. I love Windows 8.1, but I usually jump to the newest technology as far as I can.

    I've heard "bite the bullet" all my life, Miles. To me it means, "I may not like it, it ain't gonna be fun, but it's something that's gotta be done."

    Which is what I did with letting Build 10041 update to Build 10049, although from statements in this forum, I absolutely knew​it wasn't going to be any fun! I am well past that now, and I'm glad I did it. Now I'm ready for the next Windows 10 Build that Microsoft drops.
