Windows 10: Viewing pdfs in Windows Explorer

After a recent Windows update, I can no longer preview pdfs in Windows Explorer unless the default pdf reader is set to Edge. I prefer Adobe as my default pdf reader. I've checked the box in Abode to Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer, but preview still does not work. Has anyone had this issue?

• doPDF to create PDFs from any program that is capable of printing

• Foxit Reader to view PDFs and to type in them

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.
