    Virtual Desktop Licensing


    Hi Experts,


    My company wants to license 100 Virtual Desktop on a VDI environment. Can someone help me figure out the correct way of licensing
    Windows 10 on our VDI Server.


    A supplier quoted me
    100x MICROSOFT WINVDAPERDEVICE SNGL MONTHLYSUBSCRIPTIONS-VOLUMELICENSE OLV 1LICENSE NO LEVELADDITIONAL PRODUCT PERDVC 1MONTH


    and
    100x MICROSOFT WINPRO 10 SNGL OLP NL LEGALIZATIONGETGENUINE <--is this required?


    Please help me verify if both licenses are correct.


    Our end users have mix of 100 desktop and laptops with OEM Windows 10.

    Virtual Desktop licensing

    We have not been able to decipher exactly what licensing we need to purchase so I am looking for information on what type of licensing we need to purchase for our environment. We are deploying Win10 Virtual Desktops using IGEL zero clients. There will
    be a few windows devices that will also launch VDAs, but the vast majority will be zero clients.

    In the article you linked it says talks about 4 goals Microsoft has with virtual desktops:

    • Give you more desktop space to group related windows
    • Help you quickly locate and switch to any window or group of windows
    • Let you easily re-organize your groups and move windows as tasks evolve
    • Keep you in control of the degree of separation between your grouped windows
    Not being able to control what desktop the program opens on really doesn't fit in with these goals.

    Give me one good reason for why it is suppose force me to change virtual desktop when I open a program, just one good reason and I will consider to drop the issue. To me this sounds like virtual desktops isn't ready yet and you refuse to acknowledge that
    there are bugs, because this makes it very hard to work with multiply virtual desktops.

    Click the Task View button beside the search box/icon in the taskbar.

    Click +Desktop to add Virtual Desktop

    Hover your mouse to Desktop1 to show list of open Windows

    Drag and drop each Windows to target virtual desktop
