Windows 10: virus scan failed work around not working

Discus and support virus scan failed work around not working in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I was trying the workaround where you go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Attachments but the attachments file...     virus scan failed work around not working


    I was trying the workaround where you go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Attachments but the attachments file didn't seem to show up, as well as anything else that might be related to policies. I am also having issues with downloading anything, where it just gives me the download scan failed hence why I am trying this workaround. I am fairly new to these kinds of things so I would appreciate any kind of help I can get to fix this issue.

    Virus scan failed

    Everything I download I get the failed-virus scan failed. I have tried turning off all virus scans, doing the registry edit, restarting in safe mode, and using other internet browsers. Nothing has worked.

    'Virus scan failed' message

    Yes, I use Chrome. I've received several emails with Word doc attachments or google docs attached and I get the message "Failed - Virus scan failed"

    I tried to go through the steps described by typing in regedit and going through the steps provided but that didn't solve the problem.

    If not, suggests deeper problems. To which uninstall option are you referring? (A picture is worth...)
