Visual display problems after installilng windows 10

    Hi,

Until recently, I was a satisfied Windows 7 user. However, Microsoft announced that it will soon stop supporting Win 7. Therefore, I added a SSD hard disk and installed windows 10.

I have some vision problems as well as some sort of Photosensitive epilepsy. I mention this because I don't seem to be able to setup Windows 10 properly, and consequently, I suffer eyestrain, headaches, nausea etc.

It seems the problem results from the installation of Windows 10, because apart from adding the SSD hard drive, I did not change anything. Everything was fine ok Windows 7.

I hope you can help me setup Windows 10. I need your assistance regarding 2 issues:

    A. Make sure that there is no dithering, flicker, etc.

Most importantly, I need your assistance in order to setup the system such that it will avoid using DITHERING, FRC and other methods that are sometimes used regarding the visual display.

I am not sure, but if I remember correctly, I used to set Windows 7 on 16-bit color, thereby allowing the graphic card deal with the 1920X1200 resolution without dithering etc.

However, I was not able to set the colors to 16-bit. I only saw the 32 option.

I wonder whether this leads WIN10 or the GPA do something that results in my suffering eyestrain, headache, nausea etc.

I tried to install updated drivers for the display and for the Graphic card. I also tried to change in the color management settings. However, it did not help and moreover, I do not know how to revert to the original settings.

I am not familiar with these technical issues, so I really hope you can help me with this, especially since I can no longer lookup things using windows 7.

    B. Improve personalization regarding text size, colors, etc.

The second issue concerns 'personalization' issues. I managed to change some settings, but I cannot find various options I used in Windows 7.

For instance, I think I used to change the DPI in order to enlarge everything. I can't find it. When I try to increase everything, it does not really increase everything. Certain text remains very small. That happens also if I enlarge the text.

When I try to change the theme, I see only some of the options I had in Windows 7, concerning colors, font size etc. Some high contrast themes do not allow other changes etc. I would appreciate it if you could help me with this too.

    Hardwarespecifications

    Motherboard ASUS P8H77-M / CSM

    Processor Intel i5-3470 CPU@ 3.20GHz 6MB 1155 QUAD

    Thank you,

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
