    VM connection issue with Hyper-V


    I have had this long standing issue with Hyper-V VMconnection as follows.

    Sometimes I have a VM in a window, and I go to maximise it to full screen, but the windows 10 display part does no resize to full Window.

    Ok that is usually sorted by clicking the Hyper-V control bar puttin view back to a Window and remaximising again.

    However sometimes on clicking maximise, the Hyper-V control bar is totally missing and I have no way of and going back to a Window again.

    Worse, you cannot get back to normal Windows ie you lose control of Windows!

    Fortunately, I found you can press ctrl-alt-delete and fire up Task Manager and delete the VMconnection instance, and you get control of Windows again.

    Then you open a new VMconnection but have to retype password.

    Doing the above is a PITA.

    Has anybody else ever experienced this issue, and any idea how to get round it more easily than using Task Manager?

    No Internet in Hyper-V VM's

    Hi, I have Windows 10 Enterprise and just added Hyper-V. I had 3 VM's on VMware Player and deleted and uninstalled Player. I have 3 Vm's on Hyper-V. My problem is I get no Internet on my Vm's. I am new to Hyper-V and would like to know how to connect these
    to the internet. I have "Virtual switch (automatic)" selected. They show no connections available in the VM's. How do I connect to the internet? (I'm on wifi.) I'm attaching a screenshot. Thanks

    Unassign Hyper V VM with deleted User account

    Hyper V is not assigned based on user accounts.

    Hyper V is a server feature that allows you to create VMs but they are not assigned to users.

    Can you post a screenshot of what you are referring to?

    And then share on a cloud drive and post link here for me to look at?

    Also what are the steps you are doing to "assign" the VM to another User?

    Why is Hyper-V-Manager consuming so much bandwidth?

    Hello Jennifer,

    Thank you for your support.

    The setup is quite simple:

    • The Hyper-V Server is a Root-Server in the Internet (not in a domain). It is only managed by myself (whatever that means VM connection issue with Hyper-V :) )
    • The server is a "Hyper-V Server 2016" (see e.g. https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/evalcenter/evaluate-hyper-v-server-2016)
    • My Notebook connect's via Server Manager (This connection uses 8 kBit/se or less on average)
    • When I open Hyper-V (via the Server Manager) it uses 500kBit/s permanently, without even connecting to a VM. Just listing the VMs on the server.
