VMWARE WKS - 12.1 Enable printing ?? Solved

    Hi there

VMWARE WKS 12.1 seems to have an error on both LINUX and WINDOWS Hosts.
If you try and attach a printer to the VM you get "Printing must be globally enabled" message in the VMware VM configuration.

There's nowhere to set this !!!!!.

Any way of adding it manually to the actual vmx (config) file itself --often there's options you can set in that which don't appear in the vm gui editor.

Edit : Fixed -- you need to choose edit--->preferences in the VM menu -- Documentation not clear !!!! for PLAYER it's in File. ???

Another issue - can't get Bridged networking to work on Anniversary build (W10 build 1607).

    Cheers
    jimbo

  2. Unable to print from Internet.

    I confirm:

    1. VMWare, running as application within Windows 10, itself runs Windows98, which enables me to run my 16 bit development software.

    2. In order to print a program listing from this development software, I save it as a text file that is then accessed by Word within Windows 10. I cannot print directly from the development software.

On this basis, I propose to reload the drivers for:

    1. 802.11n Windows LAN card

    2. Realtek PCle Family Controller

I don't foresee any problems, since Windows 10 merely runs VMWare as a program WITHIN WHICH Windows 98 supports my development software.

Once more, thank you for your invaluable advice.
