So in the most recent update of Windows 10, I and some others have noticed that the sound played when changing your volume is unbalanced. This can cause insanity as people think they're speakers are broken. It's especially noticeable for headphone users.

EDIT: Turns out almost all the system sounds are unbalanced in the media folder

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Volume Change Sound Unbalanced :p

  3. Windows 10 volume is always defaulted to 36 and I can't change it

    Hi Ajinc,

It could be some outdated sound drivers or some audio enhancements that caused the issue you are experiencing with controlling your system volume. To narrow down such concern, we'd like to ask a few questions:

    • Which version and build of Windows 10 is currently installed on your computer? To check, click on the
      Start > Settings > System >
      About
      .
    • What are the troubleshooting steps that you've tried so far?
    • Were there any changes made on your computer settings prior to this issue?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you perform the steps listed here. Those are troubleshooting steps suitable for sound problems.

Update us if the steps above helped you in resolving your concern.

5800xm Music Player Volume Step Problem!

    Hi,

I found that the music player volume of 5800xm steps is unbalanced. There are 10 steps in the volume, however from steps 7 to 8 or 8 to 9 the volume increased by a lot. I hope they can increase steadily instead of a huge leap in volume at the steps stated.
I hope Nokia could fix this problem.

    Sorry for my bad english!
