Windows 10: VX 3000 web cam drivers in Win 10

Is this VX 3000 web cam not compatible with Win 10?

you will save yourself tones of time.

plug in your device

go to 'device manager'

select the USB device camera

click Update the driver

Have Disk

and click on the driver you have downloaded from the above link and your good to GO!

I have seen so many posts and tried so many things but this just works thought I should share, Enjoy !

Above website has both 32 & 64 bit versions for most Microsoft VX Lifecams.

I have no affiliation with the above website, I do own a Vx-3000 and did download my drivers from the website above.

 

Windows 10 Support for LifeCam VX-3000

Microsoft has said Life-cam vx 3000 webcam drivers were not included because the camera could cause loss of data or damage the computer. They suggest we buy another camera.

My vx 3000 worked fine until the April to Sept 2017 time frame. That is when my system updated from win 10 version 1607 to 1703. I am now on 1709.

I have a laptop with win 7 and a drive with linux cinnamon 18. The vx3000 is working fine both. The linux is not using any Microsoft software.

A few months back I read a post somewhere suggesting 3rd party software called Manycam.

I tried it. The vx 3000 works fine and the program does the things I want.

It connect to Facebook, Youtube and opens in Skype. I have made video calls with Skype. Open Skype, go to tools--options--video and select manycam.

I have experienced no problems to date.

 

Windows 10 Support for LifeCam VX-3000

Did your effects on Microsoft 3000 work with this new "manycam"? I downloaded it but I haven't tried it with the 3000 yet. Did the it just allow you the manycameffect? I kind of need the effects that were with my microsft cam as I do videos for young people
(mostly kids) and they have gotten familiar with the characters I've created through the webcam effect. The new cameras don't include any effects like the distortions. thanks for your previous reply.

I don't think effects are available, at least not with the free version. It appears to be just a basic camera operation with basic settings.

I know very little about the vx 3000 effects, as I don't use them.

Of course if I need vx 3000 full function, I can always use my win 7 computer.

I seldom use the PC/vx 3000 now since my son has elevated me to smartphones and their video chat functions.
