W10 access from SAMBA now OK (build 10074)

    Hi there
On previous builds of Windows I was getting strange mappings on the "C" drive from SAMBA - it was only showing Boot and missing the rest of the directory. Other drives were fine ???!!

Clean install on build 10074 seems to have fixed the problem of Samba shares. W10 access also from the Linux system fine too now. W7 / XP ==>W10 and W10==>W7/XP (i.e both ways) works fine as well.

(Linux -- Centos rel 7 -- no recent updates done on this system).

No need to reset / fiddle around with ports in firewall.

Looks like build 10074 is turning out just OK --but CLEAN install seems to be required --update from 10061 gave all sorts of weird problems.

    Cheers
    jimbo

    :)

w 10 problem with activation and unable to go back to w7

installed w10 build 10074 over my original w7. could not activate and would not work with my canon 6700d printer
installed w10 build 10240 over the 10074. worked with my printer but still could not activate
waited for official roll out. still could not activate
tried to reset to original w7. would only reset to w10 build 10074. would not activate
upgraded back to w10 build 10240. will not activate
I now have a computer with none of my files or programs and a operating system that will not activate. I want either an activated w10 or my original activated w7.
please advise how you can help me
    thanks

got following email as the only response to my oridginal request for help on the 10074 build.

  3. you removed windows firewall service?

So, is it working now? Are your SAMBA shares now accessible?
