W10 Calendar syncs only partially with iCloud calendar

I use iCloud for my calendar and contacts, and sync the Windows 10 calendar to iCloud. This allows me to see my calendar in the Windows 10 calendar widget, in Outlook (uses my iCloud calendar), or on my iPhone. I have app-specific passwords for Outlook and Windows 10 calendar within iCloud. Syncing contacts works perfectly and syncing calendar entries works almost perfectly.

Specifically, the iCloud calendar / Windows 10 calendar sync situation is this:

    - Creating or modifying an event in the iCloud calendar syncs perfectly with the Windows 10 calendar

    - Deleting an event in the iCloud calendar syncs perfectly with the Windows 10 calendar

    - Creating an event in the Windows 10 calendar syncs perfectly with the iCloud calendar

    but...

    - Deleting or modifying an event in the Windows 10 calendar syncs does not sync with the iCloud calendar

So far, neither Microsoft technical support nor Apple technical support have been able to figure this one out.

As far as steps taken - I have uninstalled Office 365 entirely and recreated my email profiles; I have uninstalled iCloud for Windows entirely and reinstalled, relinked, used new app-specific passwords for iCloud within Outlook and for the Windows 10 calendar app.

I use Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit, and all updates have been installed. iCloud for Windows is the current version, recently installed as noted.

    Any thoughts?

    :)

  2. Problems syncing iCloud Calendar with Windows 10 Calendar

    Hi Rick,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I regret the inconvenience caused to you. Let me help you.

I suggest you to go through the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Login to your Apple ID and password.

    • Choose ‘Calendar‘, click on the ‘WiFi’-like Logo next to the calendar you want to see in Windows 10 calendar app.

    • Choose ‘Public Calendar‘ and send copy the link.

    • Next, login to your outlook.com account, go to ‘Calendar‘ in the PC website view, click on ‘Import‘, then on ‘Subscribe‘, choose a calendar name, paste the iCloud calendar link
      and click ‘Subscribe‘.

    • Now the iCloud calendar subscription is processing and after a short while you can see your iCloud calendar apps on outlook.com.

    • For checking correct syncing, go to the settings wheel on the right upper corner, click on ‘Options‘ and then on the name of the iCloud calendar subscription you gave in step 4. Under ‘Last Refresh‘,
you can see the refresh period and the number of correctly synced events.

    • Open Windows 10 calendar app. If you’ve already set up your outlook.com account, you will see the iCloud calendar subscription in ‘read-only’ mode.
    Check if it helps.

I hope the information helps. If you need any further assistance, please feel free to contact us again. We will be happy to assist you further.

W10 Calendar syncs only partially with iCloud calendar

How to enable Calendar sync with microsoft? (Windows 10)

Read the article How To Sync iCloud Calendar With Windows 10 Calendar App.

It explains why the sync doesn't work and describes a workaround for syncing iCloud calendar with Windows 10 calendar app, but with the restriction of ‘read-only’ calendar syncing.

If that's not enough for you, you will need to wait for Microsoft to improve
the implementation of its CalDAV and CardDAV protocols for calendar.
As they are already working for Mail, it is probably just a bug that should
be solved soon enough, since the problem was already signaled to Microsoft.
