    Incompatibility is a possible reason why you were unable to install the .NET Framework 4.0.

    As shown on the screenshot you have provided, .NET Framework 4.0 is already part of your current Windows operating system.

    We have also checked the list of .NET Framework 4.0's supported Operating Systems and Windows 10 is not included. See the list below:

    • Windows XP SP3
    • Windows Server 2003 SP2
    • Windows Vista SP1 or later
    • Windows Server 2008 (not supported on Server Core Role)
    • Windows 7
    • Windows Server 2008 R2 (not supported on Server Core Role)
    • Windows 7 SP1
    • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

    If you need to install a .NET Framework for your Windows 10, we suggest considering
