Windows 10: W10 Single Language version - unable to change language even with re-installation

Morning all,

I have a quick question

I bought a laptop for someone and was setting it up. It is in English but it needs to be in Portuguese and I went through the process to change the language (language settings etc) where I discovered that the laptop runs a Windows 10 Single Language version so it was not possible to change the language. I did some research on the internet and what I found was that it was better to reinstall windows in the desired language.

I did that but there is no option to change the language to Portuguese, so im a bit stuck.

Can someone provide some pointers? Thank you so much

Yes it is possible to change the language on Windows 10 Single Language

Windows 8.1 update changed the language, can't change back

Maybe, these will help... it seems it is a common enough problem.

Language packs are no longer available after you upgrade to Windows 8.1

To assist you better I would like to know, what was the base language for your previous Operating system?



I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Remove the Existing language.

  Press Windows + X on your keyboard.

  Select Control panel.
  
• 
  Select language.
  
• 
  Click on the Option adjacent to the
  Existing language.
  
• 
  Click on remove under input method.
  

Step 2: Add English Language.

• 
  Press Windows + X on your keyboard.
  
• 
  Select Control panel.
  
• 
  Select language.
  
• 
  Click on Add language.
  
• 
  Add the English language from the given list.
