Windows 10: W10 update from 1803 to 20H1 fails

I have tried all the measures described in the various topics and cannot get the upgrade to work

The last attempt was via ISO downloaded from MS. Final option option is to wipe and reinstall but I'd like a solution if possible

I have the required logs


Full install failed - 0x8007042B - 0x4000D

Install failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with error during MIGRATE_DATA operation

Windows 10 fails to update


When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Update to W10 1803 stops at 43% every time

I have tried many, many times to update my main PC to the latest W10 update 1803. I have a pretty solid background in PC troubleshooting and I have updated all of my other PC's to 1803 without incident. I have failed miserably trying to update my main office

and have followed many, if not all, of the suggestions to no avail. I am linking the pertinent log files and am hoping for some guidance and suggestions as how to proceed.

My system is a modern custom system with pretty standard components. Gigabyte z370 chipset i7 8700, 16gb ram, AMD R9 390, Samsung NVMe Ram system drive. Windows 10 Pro has updated itself flawlessly up until this latest (1803) update.

Any and all suggestions (and analysis of log files) would be most welcome.

Here is the link to the log files. Note that the rollback "setuperr.log" file was empty so I was unable to upload an empty file. I assume it is empty since my PC rolled back to a pre 1803 version.

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
