    W10 V20H2 BSOD 'KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED'


    Hi all,

    I am fighting with windows update for more than 3 weeks. After installing/updating to V20H2 I got BSOD at different intervals 1 min, 5 or up to 15 minutes. Reason: 'KMODE exception not handled'. I've tried clean install on SSD or normal hard disk.

    I've tried the latest W10 Home - ISO-Image64 Bit, created from MediaCreationTool20H2.exe via USB-Stick. I couldn't even complete the install before encountering BSOD's.

    So I will explain my current, last try:

    W10-ISO from Dec. 16th 2019 --> installed, updated INF-Drivers by support-CD from mainboard manufacturer ASROCK IIP67 Extreme 4 and Realtek Audio Drivers. The ME-Drivers weren‘t installed because newer versions were already in place I think by windows itself. ,




    After that, W10 V1909 – Updates were applied by Windows-Update. Not any problem.

    Installing Mozilla-Firefox. And starting Windows-Update V20H2. This update , also because of my low-speed internet, lasts pretty long about more than 2 hours. All update-work including the restarts were done properly.

    And now – again at V20H2-level: the problem didn‘t disappear. 1 minute after having started my updated system I got BSOD again.

    My hardware: ASROCK IIP67 Extreme 4 Mainboard, AMI BIOS V1.60, processor INTEL i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 4way, 3,3GHz; memory: 16GB DDR3, Graphic-Card: AMD Radeon HD5570, SSD: Samsung SSD 860 Evo 500GB.

    This hardware wasn‘t changed and runs with W10 for more than a year without any problems.




    So has anyone an idea how to fix or am I not alone with this problem ?

    by the way: i‘ve already tried the newest cumulative december windows-update for 20H2 – also BSOD‘s

    Hi,

    We suggest that you try the workaround suggested on DonchakVS's reply on August 5, 2015 and check if it resolves the issue:

    Windows 10 - BSOD: KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED (cng.sys).

    Newly updated to Windows 10 Pro and now getting BSOD KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED. System in rebooting shortly after starting up. Any help appreciated.

    KMode Exception Not Handled BSOD

    Started receiving this lovely error yesterday Getting BSOD KMode Exception Not handled. Tried updating the drivers, tried setting what the power buttons do. I tried CCcleaner, Virus Scans, Tried setting a dump folder. And I still get the Same BSOD with no additional Errors other than KMode Exception not handled. Please helpAttachment 182877
