Windows 10: W10 Will Not Recognize Prograde CF Express Type B Card

Formatting a 128MB CF card

I have not been able to get Windows 10 to recognize the 128 and 256 MB CF cards.
I have a feeling that I read a couple of years ago that Windows cannot read old low volume CF cards.

The 128 CF card is unbranded supplied by the Janome dealer.
The 256MB Card is a San Disk marked SDCFB 03 SanDisk. This card is most likely to be 12 years old.
Maybe speed is a problem.

The 4 year old Janome sewing machine cannot handle CF cards larger than 128MB.
Janome’s cutting edge technology. Love it!



Neither card is write protected.

I will turn the problem over to the grandkids.

Windows 10 must have corrupted files on my CF card

I suggest you clone the CF card or use an imaging program then recover the image to a new CF card. I used to use win32diskimager for this task to make a working copy of the SD navigation card for my Mazda - see Win32 Disk Imager download | SourceForge.net

However, I now use Macrium Reflect v8 to do this which has the ability to image and restore memory cards.

You posted that you would try the suggested steps by Tryx3. May we have an update if the suggested steps have resolved the issue about your SD card being recognized as a fixed drive in Windows 10?
