Scan to photo format, then open the photo and print to PDF is the only way I know of to do it. Or, scan to PDF and export to photo. Printing a TIFF might yield better results when printing to PDF. But I am not aware of any program that scans and saves in multiple formats simultaneously.

Are the documents you're working with one page, a few or many?

One page. Mostly these are ID Cards. Educational Degrees etc.

Thanks. I will try to do as per your advise. But I am thinking that is it so difficult for software providers to implement this or no one ever thought about it. People need to save in at least two formats I.e pdf and jpeg because some departments require you to attach pdf and some want jpeg and scanning same documents two time is waste of time.

OK, here's an idea for all of your one-pagers . . . put the document in the scanner, scan in one format, then scan it in the next format. It's a little more trouble that way, but you won't have to re-insert the document into the document feeder (ID cards would probably be eaten anyway!) *Eek

As for multiple page docs, it's an easy matter to pick 'em up and re-insert them for the next format, although not the most convenient.

I would say that a push should be made to have documents between departments in one format or the other. It's utterly ridiculous that two different formats should be required!

At present I am doing the same but want some thing more easy by saving in one go for different format. May be if some software providers read this post and found this appeal to them.

Probably won't happen, Sam. But stranger things have happened.

Thing is, I don't believe there will be enough clients who would want such a feature to make it viable for the necessary coding expense.

You may be right but I am keeping my fingers crossed. If such software is not present today, it may be available in future because nothing is impossible and one thing which is not necessary today, may be the necessity of tomorrow. Thanks for the good communication.

OK, it looks like we're done with this thread; if that's so, it needs to be marked "solved" even though we didn't actually solve your issue.

One last thing . . . you might try googling scanning programs and then contacting the companies, asking whether they have the ability to scan once and output both PDF and Jpeg. Or you could even ask them to create the feature. There are those out there who might love to take on such a challenge. You never know until you ask.

    Good luck with it . . .
