    WD USB Drive -High CPU Usage using WMPlayer


    Operating System : Windows Technical Preview Build 10122 : Problem - I own a WD USB Hard drive, and when I use Windows media player the CPU usage is between 10% and 20%, when it should be about 2% (Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU) when the USB Drive is disconnected from my laptop usage is normal again when using Windows media player - the process that causes the extra usage is "Windows Driver Foundation - User Mode Driver Framework Host Process". Is there a fix for this?

    Windows 10: High CPU usage and 100% disk usage

    I am trying my best to perform the clean boot but unfortunately I am unable to as somewhere, either services or startup processes, I have disabled the use of any USB device. I'm able to navigate around purely with a keyboard but that does not allow me to
    re-enable use of USB.

    What I have learned is that a selective start (with system services and startup items both ticked) maintains the high cpu usage from system but solves the high disk usage.
