    Hi,


    I have a self-built PC Ryzen 5 1600, 8 Gb Ram, Radeon RX 470, 256Gb NVMe SSD on which Windows 10 Education Edition is running, 2 TB HDD for data storing and use a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen as my USB sound card for Audio Recording, Mixing and Mastering.

    I searched trough the Internet quite a lot and found many people with the same problem.


    My audio sometimes cracked up and I thought "well, that sometimes happens, don't worry about it". After installing various updates for Windows and getting a 4K Monitor, the cracking and popping got worse. Firstly, my suspicion was, that the Focusrite sound card degraded after only 1 year of use which happened to people I know. However, checking with my Laptop and various other Laptops from friends, none had the same issue. Then I thought my GPU was the problem, since it was an already used GPU when I bought it and I had trouble with frame rate drops, which didn't occur beforehand. In the end, I fiddled with the driver software and my GPU worked properly again, but the sound problem remained.


    Also, an absolutely weird and infuriating bug I encountered: When music was played via the Spotify standalone program my PC crashed randomly on me! Sometimes after 30 seconds, sometimes after an hour. Blue screen.

    Didn't happen when I was listening through the browser. Needless to say that I reinstalled all my drivers a thousand times.


    Long story, short: I found LatencyMon and there my hope was restored. "I'm not crazy, it's not my interface, not my GPU, only some weird driver I need to update.Wdf01000.sys


    Little did I know that hell just began warming up for me.

    Countless BIOS updates, reinstalling Windows 4 times, trying to fix things in the registry, power management, etc.


    Nothing helped. Except once: The first time I updated the Bios and made some very specific changes in it according to a Focusrite recommendation, worked for half a week. It fixed it for me as long as I didn't turn off the PC. Of course, I tried to recreate that exact same pattern, but it never worked afterwards again.


    I'm helpless. I believe that it worked without a problem before Windows 10 1803 or 1809. I really don't want to go back and use an old version to make it happen, since one day no security updates are going to be released for these versions.


    If my point didn't come across, I'm frustrated... It worked before. Hardware didn't change, only software and I have a very high suspicion, that it's not the third party drivers since it's working just fine on other devices also on newest update of Windows 10.

    I leave my LatencyMon Log here and hope someone might have an idea that I didn't try yet.

    Wdf01000.sys is a Microsoft driver file. The wdf01000.sys
    process should not be deleted or prevented from loading each time Windows loads.

    We would like to know more about your wdf01000.sys and latency concern:

    High DPC Latency caused by wdf01000.sys

    Hello,

    I am posting this regarding a problem that I ran across in my laptop at the beginning of august 2019, the problem is that I am getting high DPC Latency levels that are apparently caused by wdf01000.sys according to the latency checking
    program, latencymon.

    I really want to know if there is a fix since I have browsed a wide range of sites trying to find a fix, I could not find any. And also my keyboard stopped working for some reason, if its ok I would like to find a fix for that, but
    I prioritize fixing the high latency over the keyboard.
