Windows 10: "We Can't Sign You In" Problem / creates the temp profile....

This week 6 machines started suffer temp profile error. As the others described, computers lag a bit on loading then enter srtaight in temporary profile with corresponding warning message about main profile being corrupted. Logging off and back on loads the main profile in most cases.
5 of the machines are Win7 and 1 is Win10 all latest versions, some not updated since December 2017 and some regularly updated.
The common thing I spotted all of them have recently Skype 8 installed. Most of them using windows Defender and two using Avast Free. Despite these (Skype, Antivirus, windows updates) nothing else is updated/installed in a long period. Removing Skype or changing the AV program doesn't solve the issue in general, but similar computers with older skype 7/updates are working fine. HDD's are tested with scan disc and surface scan programs, so no issue there.

 

I never use Skype but I remember seeing it on my computer but just left it alone. Will uninstall and see what happens.

 

Has this suddenly stopped happening this week for anyone else? I didn't do anything.
It seems like Microsoft finally fixed whatever was causing the problem.....remotely? It certainly wasn't through any update or KB.
I don't like the feeling though that were completely under the whims of Microsoft, and they can break this again anytime they wish.

This frustrating bug appeared random , and since a few days have not seen it anymore , what happened............????

Here too. Last issue was 19 Apr, last fix (reg profile change) made on that same machine on 20th Apr, no problems with fixed or untouched machines since. Could it be windows defender update, bcz on most of the computers in the office updates are manual and only auto-update program is the antivirus?

 

I'm thinking it has to be something to with this.

The dates line up for when we started having issues. Must've been a crappy hastily thrown together patch that messed things up. Quite infuriating. A new update was pushed out over the weekend "1.1.14800.3" replacing the "1.1.14700.5" emergency update, which is probably why I'm not seeing this problem anymore.
