Hello I am struggling to try install Windows Update KB5005033The update always stopped at 98% and the 'We couldn’t complete the updates. Undoing changes' appears.I have tried anything on the internet to fix this, but nothing workI have read that the update can't be installed because of not enough system reserved partition, but my disk is on GPT.Here is my partition table, the new volume is my own created partition to store EFI, I manually created it because my old HDD is corrupt and can't be used My windows is on my SSD which is Disk 0, and my old EFI partition is on my old HDD that is broken

I suggest you to run the Windows Update troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Update. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Windows update.

Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select
  Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the
  top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Windows Update troubleshooter.

I've got the same issue and following on @Arthur's suggestion, I had a look at my user SIDs in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList and some of them belonged to users that no longer existed in the system (I had previously removed them).

I've removed the dummy entries (luckily there were only a couple) and the update worked.

PLEASE save yourself some trouble and backup the registry before trying that.

Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2 - build 19042 - 500gb Sata SSD - 16GB RAM

Downloading Update: 2020-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems Windows
Update: Error encountered. "Some update files are missing or have problems......

If I click Retry it will download 100% and ask for Re-Start.

Press Re-Start and it will begin to update until it gets to 30% then it will restart.
It will then continue to install up to 48% then restart again.

Then says "we couldn't complete the updates and are undoing changes"

It does this three times (three re-starts) before finally loading Windows as normal.

I have tried many of the suggestions found online mostly from a CMD point. Tried several re-sets for Windows Update but nothing has worked so far. net start bits - net start wuauserv - net start appidsvc - net start cryptsvc etc.... Have just run BAT file from this forum too, no change.

Would be most grateful for help with this.
