Windows 10: We couldn't set you default save location ERROR CODE 0x80004004

I was trying to install forza horizon 4 with the Xbox game pass for PC app, but when i selected my 2tb I drive. It tells me that this location isn't set up for new apps, so i click the provided shortcut which brings me to a settings tab labeled, Chang where new content is saved. I click new apps will be saved to and switch to my 2tb drive, and then this error pops up We couldn't set your default save location, error code 0x80004004 can someone please tell me what this means and how to fix it P.S. if there is a way to do it without reformatting my drive that would be much appreciated

Sorry for the delayed response.

From your recent description, it seems like the issue is confined to Word documents. If true, then follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Launch Word application.
• Go to File Menu and select Options.
• In the pop-up dialog box, towards the left pane, select Save.
• Under Default location file, browse the location you want to save.
• Check if the issue persists.
